Welcome to the official website of author Sean Amico.
After seven years, my first novel is complete. Well, sort of. I have finally finished the first draft of Nom de Guerre but there is still some revision left to be done and of course the need for an agent.
“So, what’s it about?”
I’ve been asked this question every week since I first came up with the story of a World War Two officer who falls in love with a young woman in the French Resistance. He is the leader of an Inter-Allied team that parachutes into Brittany to aid the Maquis. She is fighting alongside them because her entire family is either dead or missing. But she soon finds out that a rival faction of the Resistance was responsible for the death of her mother. What she finds out later is that her twin brother, who left home years before to fight during the Fall of France, is a member of that group. And in the end - twenty years before The Day of the Jackal - there is an assassination attempt on the new leader of a liberated France. It is a mystery unsolved to this day. Nom de Guerre reveals the story of this young woman who must choose between family and country if she is to save the life of General Charles de Gaulle.
This, however, is not what the story is about. Revenge, redemption, the moral ambiguity of war, and how the subtle shades of conviction or circumstance can define who is the enemy; this is what Nom de Guerre is about.
